Back in '97 or so my ex and I were invited to the Mammoth Records Xmas bash

and George Clinton was there. He was really cool, talked to everybody, posed for pics, etc. Apparently he was in negotiations to sign with them, but it never happened for whatever reason.

Mammoth BTW was the Chapel Hill label that signed Squirrel Nut Zippers (one hit wonders with "Hell") back in the day. They also had Juliana Hatfield, Seven Mary Three, a few other pretty well known artists. George had family in Durham & that was part of his connection to them.
