if the CFP was not expanding to 12?

I have posted this same rant for years. The television networks (Disney, 21CF, Comcast NBCU, CBS) need eyeballs and content. With the move to streaming (Peacock, Disney/ESPN+, Paramount +) and to squeeze as much out of the remaining sub pie from cable/satellite, there needs to be a contraction in the conferences.

For a long time, I have been the advocate for Texas to the ACC and to bring with them ND as a full time partner. I still believe that is the best course of action. Ultimately, I believe a 20-team ACC will be make the most sense.

Schools can be broken into pods of 5 each. Each season, each team plays their 4 fellow pod members and 5 from another pod. The "other" pod rotates every season, meaning that you see every team in the league once every 3 years.

In my dream scenario, the ACC now sits at 16 with Texas and ND included. Now go add Oklahoma and Kansas to get to 18. For the last 2, it is anyone's best guess. WVU? Houston? UCF? Kansas State? TCU? Cincinnati?

I just like being a school in a big group right now. I do suggest that the ACC get in the Texas/OU derby and give ND an ultimatum to join or get left behind.
