Tech head coach Kristen Skiera hired Shannon Gilroy as her associate head coach. Gilroy was with Skiera for 4 years at Army. Gilroy is a Long Island native and played at Florida. Skiera's Baltimore connections along with Gilroy's Long Island connections should help recruiting.

Former Tech WLAX assistant coach Gregg Gebhard has become the assistant coach at Pitt where he'll rejoin former Tech players Paige Petty (grad transfer) and Sammie Giroux (redshirt freshman).

Leigh Lingo has transferred to Florida as a graduate transfer. Lingo was a starting defender for the last 2 seasons at Tech.

The roster on HokieSports has been taken down since Skiera was hired a month ago. About 12 players graduated last spring and a few have already transferred. Skiera said that her first job is to talk to and get to know all the returning players and and those recruits who have verbally commited. I'm expecting more transfers before classes begin this fall semester. How many is the question? I also expect some transfers to be arriving this fall (especially during this new age of the transfer portal).
