All he needs to do is change the functionality of the enter button


If one had to actually click/tap 'Submit Post', they'd most likely realize that they were submitting a post and not a search query. Folks type a phrase in that field then hit enter, which posts a new topic. There isn't another message board I've ever seen where one can post a new thread solely using the keyboard, which is why no other message board has this problem.

Also, having the 'post a message' be a text field is just inviting issues, since most forums use a text field for for the search bar, and a button with a pop-out for a new topic.

TSL message boards try to reinvent the wheel too often. Every shortcoming of this message board was solved like 15 years ago elsewhere. Yeah, I know the aborted vB transition made you trigger-shy about board format changes, but this 'search as a new topic' issue is ridiculous.
