I have lived in the Atlanta area

for over 25 years. The worst part of the drive is from Macon to downtown Atlanta. It can get slow. It is best to try to hit downtown Atlanta before 3:00 PM. Once inside the city, take I 20 west to Birmingham. Another option is to hit I 285 west before you get to downtown Atlanta. That will take you around the city and you can hit I 20 west from there.

Be careful on 231N, it is notorious for speed traps. ** -- BusLoadaBozos 07/08/2021 4:03PM

Maybe longer, but a better bet to avoid ATL. 75 N totally sucks. ** -- banishedtothelounge 07/08/2021 2:58PM
