Interesting experience with Apple attempting to update my credit card info

The card I had on file had expired, but the bank had sent a new card with a different expiration date. I attempted to edit the card online with Apple, but was denied.

I tried to delete that credit card, then re-add it, but since I'm paying a monthly feel for iCloud storage, they wouldn't let me delete it...had to keep a card "on file," even an expired card...lol

My thought for the only way to solve this was to enter a different card temporarily, then delete the old one. Next I would add the new, updated card, and delete the temporary card. That seemed like a lot of hoops to jump through, so I decided to call Apple support to see if they knew how I could edit my existing card.

The rep wasn't sure why I couldn't edit it. Possibly because it had expired? She basically told me to do the procedure I described above. I thanked her, and told her I would call back if it didn't work. Didn't want to keep her on the line while I jumped through those hoops.

It's done now, so case closed.
