Reasons (excuses?): long season, tough ACC competition (duh!), young team/growing pains, other team's made adjustments using stats and video. Most disturbing: "...the opposing arms we faced have really done a good job of executing plans, and our guys haven’t made many adjustments. That’s why you see what the outcomes have been.” Isn't that like saying we didn't/couldn't coach up our guys to identify weaknesses and exploit them, create a plan and execute it, like other teams did? And with bats having utterly failed down the stretch, he offers no solution. And then there's this: "Strides were definitely made in the right direction," yet no mention of what those strides were. A really odd series of statements to say the least, and not particularly a whole lot there to give the fanbase hope, much less give a young man a reason to want to play for him/VT, unfortunately.
