Good stuff. Does Pete follow the Chris Coleman “always be redshirting rule?

Hopefully still a lot of Hokie softball to go yet this season but I am thinking about what Emma’s arrival means for next year’s team.

Keely has the option to come back, no? Seems highly unlikely she would lose any playing time to an incoming freshman, no matter how good on paper. It seems like at least one of Ozzy or Ivy (if not both) could develop into a great pitcher for VT post Keely. So it will be interesting to see how Emma impacts all of that. I guess it is probably like the QB room in football....someone rises to the top, one way or the other. It just happens.

Also wondering if Emma could be one of those rare pitchers who also bats as the DP. That might be another thing that challenges Pete’s traditional way of thinking. We know Keely doesn’t do any batting, and I don’t think Ozzy or Ivy do either, right? I generally like the approach of having pitchers focus on pitching and pitching alone.

But these are all good “problems” to have!
