Hard to believe...


...but in those pre Bird/Magic days, the Bullets, err, Wizards, were one of the elite teams in the NBA. They beat the Celtics, defending NBA champs from '74 in 6 games in '75 in the Eastern Finals, won the trash can in '78 in 7 games from the Sonics, then lost to them in 5 in '79. High water mark for both franchises as neither has been to the finals since. As for the Sonics, don't forget Dennis Johnson, a defensive wizard, who went on to even bigger things w/the Celtics (1983-90).
