Friends, I have EXCITING softball news from Blacksburg!
And it takes second place to our regional bid later today.
Congratulations to Coach Pete D’Amour and his wife Anna on the birth of their first child, Reaux Green D’Amour yesterday.
Reaux weighs in at 6 pounds, 4 ounces and is 19 ¾ inches long. Rumor has it that John Szefc may already have him on his short list for the Class of 2039!
I have always believed everything happens for a reason and there is no better proof than this weekend in Louisville. The Hokies lost a heartbreaker to Clemson in the semifinals and headed back home Friday evening after the game.
That meant Coach D’Amour was home on Saturday when Reaux made his appearance. That may not have been the case had the Hokies been playing for the ACC Championship.
There is not a bigger Hokie Softball fan than me, but right this moment, I am ecstatic that we lost that semifinal game. Nothing is more important than being there for your first child being born.
Again, a HUGE congratulations to Coach Pete and Anna. I’m pretty sure this is a good luck charm for the week!
Let’s Go Hokies!!!
