Evan was name today as the winner of the John Eure Award in Journalism by the Virginia Tech School of Communication.

I can't think of a more deserving recipient. As most of you know, Evan has done fantastic work during this time at Virginia Tech, including a lot of work with TSL and the Hokie Softball Podcast.

He is an amazing young man and will do GREAT things in his career.

"The John Eure Award in Journalism recognizes the senior who has been most engaged in the student media and other professional activities.

Congratulations to Evan Hughes, who was chosen by our faculty for this award! 🥳🎉

Evan was recommended based upon his incredible commitment to the Sports Media and Analytics program and his role as an “ambassador” for both the school and the college when it comes to sharing information about the program with prospective students. The faculty also noted his involvement in founding 3304 Sports as well as the recognition he’s brought to the SMA major through his personal accomplishments, such as being named an STAA All-American in 2020."
