Our indoor facility is among the very best. Our field crew makes the playing surface absolutely top-notch and beautiful. Our softball "stadium" is just decent, although we should all be very grateful... as people have noted, there are many who have it so much worse. The metal grandstand can make it brutally hot when the sun is shining and doesn't retain any heat at all for those cold spring evenings after the sun goes down. I'm a tiny bit jealous of the new facilities with permanent concrete concourses (especially with shade overhangs) that seat from the top-down and have walking/lingering space up and behind the seated crowd (Clemson/UVA). Even the presence of a "berm" area behind RF between the field and Lot 4 would add to the game day atmosphere and increase the potential for total spectators.

Would love to see an upgrade with funding from a nominal charge ($5-10) for non-students and some open wallets from our softball supporters who can afford to do so. COVID has taken a HUGE hit to athletic budgets at our school and others around the country. Without a major donor stepping up, I expect that we'll have to be happy with what we have for several years. The indoor facility was greatly needed and the right call, but probably put us at the back of the line for major capital improvements.
