Honestly, I think we could play this ND team 10 times and not win once.

They just have our number. It feels like a UVA-Tech football situation for those magical 15 years. Tech wasn’t a much better team than UVA in some of those years (or even many of them post 2011) but they were in the Hoos’ heads and just seemed to know exactly which buttons to push to get the win. Almost inexplicable and UVA lost several “50/50” games before finally getting one in 2019.

I fear that’s what we have here. Assuming we play them again in the ACC tourney, they are going to be playing us w the utmost confidence. I don’t know that we can make the necessary adjustments in terms of plate discipline or learning how to attack the change up. Obviously we would be facing Holloway again.

The thing is, I wouldn’t at all be surprised to see us win 3 of 4 vs. Syracuse, or even sweep them. This team HAS talent and is capable of playing w confidence, but this became a mental thing against ND and anyone in sports will tell you those are not good situations to be in. Again, ask UVA. They genuinely felt there was some kind of curse out there (especially after the 2018 game, haha) and I’m pretty sure that’s how our softball team feels right now.
