The troubling trend for VT is their goalie play has consistently struggled all season. Last year Benson had about a 55% save percentage. This year it's around 35%. Today it was 22%. Something is not clicking on defense which isn't helping the goaltending. The best defense is a strong offense. VT is not winning enough draws, only about 30% today, to control time and possession. And without Kayla Frank as an offensive threat this season it clearly has impacted Paige Petty's game. She only had the one goal today. Team needs more offensive firepower, better goaltending, and stronger draw/circle play.
