There is still a market for better end furniture. But I spent 30 years in the industry and at the beginning of that time, there was dozens of brand names who built their product in their own factories, so each brand name had its own features that could differentiate the price and value. Over those 30 years, more and more products moved overseas to the point in the name of cost-saving, the same plants in China and Southeast Asia were making everyone's products. That reduced everything to a near commodity situation and when that happens, there is no bottom in pricing. Quality suffers.
I retired years ago but I'd imagine with so many products and components made in China, this virus has significantly upset the supply chain, making product scarce too. You can't make what you don't have the parts for [Post edited by AshburnFarmHokie at 04/06/2021 9:52PM]
