Nice memories & my paternal G'ma ....

made from scratch biscuits were simply divine , cooked in a wood fired oven. Leftovers were stored in a corner cabinet and i would always go straight to that cabinet upon visiting as they were still delicious even days after being made. They lived on a small farm with dairy cattle & i easily recall the delicious home made buttermilk created in an old wooden churn , sure cant get that in a store. But the raw milk, i could not drink, lol ! They slaughtered their own food & i can still see all the meat in the salt house laid out to cure. Despite what would be considered a very unhealthy diet high in fat , they both lived well into their 90s no doubt because they also worked hard their entire lives.
