Some days are very rich in talent. 3 superstars with Marvin, Emmy Lou, and

Leon Russell. Equal votes. A day of riches for sure. Each has been extremely influential. Marvin captured the angst and anger of post Civil Rights disappointments and then relationships (sexual healing). Leon was part of the wrecking crew in LA. Played with everyone. Was a band leader with Delaney and Bonnie and the Mad Dogs. Distinctive Piano style caused by palsy (Elton John could not imitate and was intrigued) Wrote several classics including This Masquarade. Emmy Lou, sweetheart of the Rodeo. On the short list of greatest female voices along with Linda, Dolly, Alison Krause, and Patty Loveless. Matriarch of the folk/bluegrass scene. Watch early shows with the Hot Band—definitely some white line fever and Rodney Crowell on guitar.
