Full first day in Charleston, SC ...

using it as a central point while we look at potential retirement locations. I love Charleston - but we won't be retiring here. Cost of living is more than I want ... traffic is getting worse ... but it is a fantastic city to visit and I highly recommend it if you haven't been here. People are amazingly nice, food is great, tons to do, etc.

But what I have noticed on day 1 ... SC seems to be done with COVID and I love it. Masks are 'encouraged' and most people (including me) wear them indoors but they aren't mandatory. You still have the belt-and-suspenders crowd that wears a mask while biking outdoors but there is no help for those people. Cases are still dropping and it makes my heart happy to see some normal right now. People sitting at bars having a drink ... we are almost there.
