Those numbers on Covers.com are incorrect.


A quick check comparing them to the percentages on HokieSports AND Kenpom shows those Covers numbers are incorrect. Both VT and KenPom.com list the same numbers.

VT's opponents shot 33.1% from the outside this year, which is worse than the national average of 33.8%

VT's opponents shot 48.3% overall from the field this year, which is worse than the national average of 49.8%.

VT's opponents had an effective FG% of 48.8% this year...worse than the national average of 50.1%.

Covers.com is a gambling site. It's not necessarily a credible source for stats. There's a reason people (including college basketball programs) pay Ken Pom for his statistical work, and not Covers.com. :)
