I think people....
need to take a deep breath and get a little perspective. This is not to say there are not issues to be fixed or concerning trends but, to acknowledge that baseball is a grinder's sport. This is a sport that views succeeding 3 out of 10 times at the plate a solid performance. This is a team with significant youth and they had early success maybe due to unfamiliarity and now they have to figure out how to adjust their games to the way opponents have responded to their initial performance. This is a highly competitive conference. Yesterday was 1 game of a weekend series and they have previously won 2 out of 3 weekend conference series. Mid weeks and development are entirely different animals than conference weekend series and further clouded by the nature of the opposition and their motivation. It is also worth browsing the history of teams selected to the college baseball playoffs over the years as the metrics are far different than undefeated or one loss football programs or even basketball teams that suffer some more losses. People screaming about the "wheels being officially off" may be proven true, however, given the nature of the sport it is still too early to conclude that definitively. The spring weather has not even really broken yet. Just my two cents and it may not even be worth that much.;-)
