Petty and Berman came back
but a few other starters were missing. Petty hadn't played for 3 weeks. The COVID break has wreaked team chemistry. Tech opens the season without one of its best players in Kayla Frank and high school All-American transfer from Maryland Kennedy Lynch. Tech easily defeats Liberty. The JMU game was canceled. Then they lose a few competitive games vs. highly ranked ACC teams and crush Longwood. Tech abruptly stops play for 2 weeks for COVID when all the other teams were perfecting their team chemistry. Tech gets back to play without 6 starters vs. #1 UNC. They pretty much were starting the season all over in week 5 of the season. Tech travels to Davidson last evening and loses to a #30-#40 type program. It's been a disastrous season for John Sung and his program at this point. #14 Jacksonville comes into town this weekend. Then Tech faces all Top 20 ACC teams except for a bad Radford team. It could be a 3-11 season for WLAX. Avoiding ten loses would be an accomplishment at this point. All we can hope for is that the program improves game by game and focuses on 2022. Hopefully Sung can talk Kayla Frank into coming back. The only positive thing this season is that Mary Griffin survived pancreatic cancer. [Post edited by Old Line Hokie at 03/18/2021 4:46PM]
