According to Massey's model, UConn was the only team that Marquette played that would be considered better than the Hokies. So, not only did they lose all three games to UConn, but they beat nobody as good or better than VT, and I believe they had 3 additional losses to teams cosidered lower ranked than the Hokies.
I agree that they need to keep from disappearing for a quarter like they have a tendency to do, and they will be fine.
