OK... big upsets in the first round, who ya got?

Going thru the brackets, these seem fairly likely to me:

- Tech over Florida. Duh. Not a huge upset by any stretch. In fact it looks like a very favorable matchup for the Hokies to me, especially if the Florida players rumored to miss this game are indeed out.

- Winthrop over Villanova. Nova's PG is out injured. Winthrop has an unreal record (something like 23-1). Look for the Eagles to pull the classic 12-5 upset here.

- Another 12 seed to watch: UC Santa Barbara. The Gauchos are on a major roll and could easily oust Creighton here, who mysteriously got bombarded by Georgetown in the Big East final.

- The 11 seed play-in winner of Wichita State or Drake. Either of these could easily dump USC in round 1, especially if it's Drake. They are nasty.

- The other 11-seed all-time classic of either Michigan State or UCLA. Either of those storied programs is very capable of taking out a BYU program with a fairly questionable resume for a 6 seed (their claim to fame is losing repeatedly to Gonzaga).

- Could be a bit of a stretch, but watch out for UNC-Greensboro vs FSU. The Noles have a bad habit of simply not showing up for certain games. That would be a BIG mistake vs UNCG, who are very, very tough for a 13 seed.

- Even more of a stretch, but 14 seed Colgate could stun Arkansas. Colgate runs a very up-tempo style. So do the Razorbacks. That game could turn into an epic track meet.
