Spent plenty of vacation time in that area.


Spend time over in Beaufort, Fort Macon, Cape Lookout (climb the lighthouse or explore the island), take one of the many water tours, fish, a good number of decent restaurants (I can recommend a bunch), go to the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. If you are looking for significant night life, that isn't the area for it.

That whole area is not as busy as Kill Devil Hills/Nags Head, the beaches outside of Wilmington, or Myrtle Beach. We went last year and enjoyed our time even with COVID and already have another trip planned this summer.
