Nope. It's part of the plan to force out parking.

When built, the parking structure doubled the amount of spaces available over there. Ergo, they replaced all the parking in the commuter lot with a single structure, thereby letting them demolish the rest of the parking.

Also, they want everyone to bus onto campus, so they are building a HUGE bus terminal soon for this purpose.

Oh and they make parking on campus cost money, no matter what now.
