Power 5 schools save best starting pitching for conference games.


Conference games are typically on the weekends, mid-major games are midweek. The mid-major teams throw their aces against the Power 5 schools on the weekday games. So you'll have the Liberty ace going against the number 4 or 5 UNC starter.
