Those two were long time successful Tag Team partners. At some point previously, Mulligan had been the US Heavyweight Champ, and lost it to someone, can't remember who, maybe Paul Jones, and it stuck in his craw big time. Well Flair wins the US belt from Jones, or whomever, in a singles match.

They bring the two of them out together to interview them, Mulligan is clearly still agitated about losing it originally, but like a good partner, congrats Flair on winning it. Flair gets into "Flair mode" and puffs up saying nobody will ever be US Champ again, nobody ever as good as him, and was really laying it on pretty thick onto Mulligan that he won the belt that Blackjack had lost.

Mulligan loses it, beats the crap out of Flair at the interview stand. They are separated and the show moves on. Later during Mulligan single match, Flair comes back into the studio, wearing Mulligan's prized cowboy hat, and during his match, rips it to shreds. Mulligan freaking out.

Later during Flair single match, Mulligan returns the favor coming out in Flair's ridiculous robe, and rips it to shreds. While Flair totally loses his sheeite.

It was classic. I've searched before for it on youtube and I have never found it.

And of course, from then on, they were at each other's throats with a new story line.

I still remember hilariously cracking up at it as kid, seeing Mulligan in Flair's ridiculous robe, and Flair in the cowboy hat. Too funny.

The stuff they came up with for "story lines" was just too much, even back in those days.
