It looks like Hillegas did not even qualify for at-large selection ..

There were 7 criteria and you had to meet at least 2 of them. I think Hillegas only met the Top 33 coaches ranking (he was in the previous one but don't know if he is in the one coming out tomorrow). He did not meet .the following six criteria: (1) .700 winning percentage, (2) .700 winning percentage at weight, (3) 1 win vs auto qualifier, (4) he was not seeded in top 16 last year, (5) he was not in Top 8 at 2019 tournament, and (6) he did not finish within 1 of qualifying ACC placement, ACC only got 3 allocations and Sam finished 5th in ACCT.

Of course, this assumes that they used these criteria to the letter of the law.
