Yes, that's what I was thinking - thanks At one point, one of our


pitchers (can't remember name or specific inning, etc) took the mound in relief, threw to 1st 2 or 3 times for an attempted pickoff play, not yet pitching to the hitter....then, he was pulled.... I didn't get that one at all.
Seems they don't even have a chance to get in their groove, as you said.... I can see for a pure closer, you come in to shut down one hitter... Full disclosure -- I am NO baseball aficionado :) haha (though I played a number of years --- but not big-time)
