Yup, especially in an ice situation

I have been through multiple major ice storms and 1/2-3/4" of ice on wipers that are down is no bueno. You can sit and wait for your defroster to melt them but you do run a real risk of damage if you jump the gun. The ice doesn't build up on them when they are up so hit the defroster and push of the sheet of ice after the bond to your windshield is broken. Buh-bye!
