Interesting drive to the Dismal Swamp today


On the way out, there was an accident that had blocked a lane, so traffic was backed up for miles. That probably added 30+ minutes to the drive out.

While stuck in traffic, I heard tires spinning and saw a Camaro driver floor it to go from stopped into the turn lane. Unfortunately there was a car coming. Didn't see that accident, but I heard a nice loud "thump" with my widows up & the radio on. Was able to see both drivers were OK as the traffic started moving again.

The accident was cleared as I approached, so the traffic in my lane started moving normally. As I reached the top of the High Rise bridge, saw a Mustang that was sideways blocking both lanes. Felt sorry for the drivers behind that one.

Thankfully the return trip was accident free.
