Here's a peak at this weekend's ACC Softball Games
Since the ACC website doesn't currently have the softball schedules on their calendar, I thought some of you might be interested in this weekend's schedule.
Just for giggles and grins, I included the Massey preseason rankings as a rough look at the quality of competition. Obviously, those rankings are REALLY, REALLY early, but nevertheless, they provide a starting point.
*Florida State (Massey Ranking #14) is staying at home and playing 2 games against Missouri (#15), 2 games against Memphis (#75), and a Tuesday game against Southern Miss (#96)
*Louisville (#37) and North Carolina (#63) are both traveling to South Carolina to play 2 games each against the Gamecocks (#19) and a single game against UNC-Greensboro (#122).
*Duke (#29) is traveling to LSU for a game against the Tigers (#11), two games against Central Arkansas (#118), and single games against Kansas (#47) and McNeese State (#44).
*Notre Dame (#23) is traveling to Alabama State for games against the Hornets (#272), North Alabama (#142), and Tennessee Tech (#161).
*Clemson (#84) is traveling to Jacksonville/North Florida and playing 2 games against Illinois State (#81) and single games against North Florida (#98) and Jacksonville (#107).
Boston College (#72) is also traveling to Jacksonville/North Florida, playing 3 games against Jacksonville (#107) and 2 games against North Florida (#98).
*NC State (#56) is staying at home for 3 games against Longwood (#158)
*Georgia Tech (#68) is staying home for 2 games against Boise State (#51) and Radford (#169) and a single game against Georgia State (#140).
*UVA (#117) is traveling to Georgia for 2 games against the Bulldogs (#14) and 2 games against South Alabama (#112).
*Syracuse (#86) is not playing this weekend and will open their season next weekend in Chapel Hill in pod play against the Tar Heels and Notre Dame.
And last, but certainly not least, the Hokies (Massey ranking #20) are traveling to Kennesaw for 3 games against the Owls (#83). Will has my complete preview and it should be published soon.
The weather on the east coast likes a little sloppy this weekend, so who knows which games will actually be played, but I thought it was an interesting snapshot.
