Clarification

A technical fall (tech fall) is when a wrestler's lead gets up to 15 points. The bout ends at that point in time (think mercy rule). That's five team points in the dual score. If a wrestler has riding time and the lead is only 14, the lead is pushed to 15 points and that is also a tech fall and it's still five team points.

You may be referring to the two near fall points (back points, backs, swipes, NF, two count, etc.) that followed Sam's last second takedown. The referee begins counting once the bottom wrestler's back goes past 45 degrees. You can either score 2 points or 4. You cannot get three points on near fall.

Someone can step in if I'm wrong but that's my understanding. We're all friends here and we all want to better understand the sport!
