The thing is...


these kids that get the scholarships get them to schools i usually haven't heard of and they are partial.

my younger son went to a lax powerhouse in florida (Saint Andrews) and the 'scholarship' that these kids would get would be a drop in the bucket of the overall cost of the private d2 school. my wife and i had to look them up because we had never heard of them. the parents just liked to brag about their kid getting an athletic scholarship. there were a few that went to legit schools in d1 but they were few and far between.

his school did have a few basketball scholarships though. one kid went to fsu. but the lacrosse parents...we didn't fit it. we didn't fit in at that school but they were so much better academically than our neighborhood school and we had some extra money for his academic growth- plus they gave us a huge discount for 'need'.
