Running shoe dilemma
Background: years ago, one of my toes met a piece of furniture, and it healed with one joint that sticks up a little higher than the rest of my toes.
A current pair of running shoes has a seam at the bottom of the laces that rubs against that toe. It gives me a nice blister on top of the toe when I wear "gym" socks. If I wear thick hiking socks, or sock liners, I usually avoid a blister.
Other than wearing thick socks, Band-Aids, or "mole skin" pads across the top of that toe, is there any way to soften the area of the shoe so it doesn't bother me when I wear regular gym socks?
TIA
