This is a nice and supportive post.

But it doesn't change the fact that Virginia Tech struck out on its QB prospects and had to identify the best available option. I wish the young man all the success in the world. But its not true that "many" other programs would like to have him. Sure, FCS programs and perhaps a few G5 programs. Those were the schools that were recruiting him. Being a winner in GA is nice, but it may have had very little to do with his abilities. I don't think either of us knows that.

Regardless, we struck out and KK was a "reach" prospect and 4th string this year. If the coaches were being honest, they would confirm that there was never a plan for the young man to start at QB. The plan was HH/BB and then QP. Then some other higher rated player with a naturally higher ceiling. It is what it is.

I played soccer in college and one thing has always been clear: you have to learn your ceiling as an athlete. My perception of KK's ceiling is not a P5 starter, especially not a ranked P5 team. I hope he proves me and himself wrong, but its unclear whether that would be because of a void of talent, or because he has risen to a competitive level that wasn't expected of him.
