In that game, I think it was more or less intentional.

Here was little old Va Tech, a newbie in the ACC, and not particularly wanted, playing it's first game in Cameron Indoor, against the mighty Duke team coached by legendary Coach K.

It almost felt intentional. We (the ACC) are going to show those people who runs the ACC.
