I completely agree. VT has experienced the "Beamer Era" and it was great but it needs to stay in the past. Hiring his son (although a great coach) would kind of be a step back for the program for the same reason that you mentioned, he would be a 1st time HC. I think USC would be great fit for Shane because it's in the SEC which he's mentioned he loves and has experience in. Plus, they have the resources for him to be successful.
