Loves me some McAfee's Knob! I took my Boy Scout troop there on a fall


weekend. We watched the sun set from the rocks....watched the full moon arise..... watched a full lunar eclipse .... all while listening to a Hokie football victory and watching planes come into Roanoke Airport! Sweeeeeet!

Another time I was backpacking with my son. I warned him about a sheet of ice on the trail. Just at that moment I slipped and buckled my knee under me with a full backpack. Tore my meniscus, had surgery a few month later, did PT for 2 weeks, then peddled a bike from San Fran to LA.
Didn't tell the doc about that.
