A couple thoughts from yesterday.....
First, this was a coming out party for Sammy Hillegas. He had back-to-back tough draws in Malcolm Robinson and Ryan Jack and easily dispatched them. I was a bit more impressed with Robinson than i was with Jack, as he is a lightening quick shooter. With both, Mancini used his Frayer like skills, and wrapped the chest and muscled his way to a TD.
ADD-thoughts from U23-
Prata- While the loss to Paul Biachi was a bad loss, he redeemed himself with a good wine versus Aguilar. He forfeited this morning, so must be nicked up.
Gerardi- Show'd a bit of a tank a gutted out a win. Gets a real test today in Philippi.
Howard- Very impressed with what I've seen thus far. Want to see more.
Stan- Looked good in the the matches he wrestled.
Borst- He did note look good and is done for the tourney.
Juniors-
First, take out Fisher (who's not on the roster) and it was dominance, 15-0 with only two decisions. That's right, the rest were pins and techs.
Hillegas- Wow, just wow.
Bryce- Our Cobra Kai, strike first, strike hard, no mercy guy. Was getting schooled a bit by all namer Legend Lemur.... which ticked him off, so he pinned him.
Brady- The dude with the two decision. He looked gassed at times, but it strong and patient.
Ulrey- 157 will be perfect for him. He may be stronger than Brady, Wicked leg laces.
Sam Fisher- Had his moments, but still as ways to go. Rocking the beard, though. It takes his 70s look to the next level.
Andy Smith- Surprising quickness for a guy who's trimmed down a bit. He wrestled a much stronger guy in Cody Fisher and tech-ed him.
Hunter Catka- Barely saw him....an absolute steamroller.
