I have nothing to do with this article at all. It was posted and distributed online today, someone I know pointed me to it, and I merely posted it here. I most definitely not involved but have been made aware that this issue directly impacted 5 players on last year’s team months ago. Others in this message board are aware as well. I chose not to share the details out of respect to the SAs involved. I have nothing to do with the problem or the solution but as an alumnus and long time donor and scholarship provider for VT Athletics, I see this behavior and treatment of our student athletes as unacceptable. I want to win more than anyone but it matters how we win. I don’t think any player deserves this kind of treatment let alone as many as 5. If you want to put your heads in the sand and ignore these kinds of activities that’s up to you. I for one am glad that at least some of it has come to light and hopefully stops future negative impacts to our SAs as they deserve better. Hokies deserve better.
