I’ll give the perspective from the hiring manager

All I really care about is whether you can do the job and can I pay you within an approved salary range. Ideally I would love to know that you will last for at least two years but that is a risk with any hire.

Your resume should be a story about your experience and a sales pitch for your skills and why you are awesome. It does NOT have to be a Wikipedia entry on every job you have had. Just list your recent short term stuff as “consulting” and leave it at that or don’t include it at all. Most people won’t even ask, but if they do then just mention it was transition work while you looked for your ideal job (this one you are interviewing for).

For your current job, it’s just business. When you are ready to quit then just do it and don’t worry about hard feelings. Sometimes it just has to be done.

And lastly, if you need other job options try looking at government regulators that are about to get a lot more funding. OCC, CFPB, Federal Reserve, EPA, OSHA, FEMA and others.
