Nowhere have a suggested that passion is anything other

than okay. Nowhere have I suggested that VT tanking and being a terrible team should fine with people.

My “theme,” if you want to call it that is that sports fans in general (and VT fans are no exception) generally allow their “passion” to cause irrationality. With VT fans, they misunderstand the causes of our previous success and and fail to recognize the tectonic shifts to the landscape of college football that make similar success today nearly impossible.

Instead, they breath through their mouths and grunt “Fuente sucks.”

We have a lot of emotional investment among fans but not a commensurate financial investment. We have a lot of people who expect 10-11 wins per season but who think that’s easily achieved in today’s game. It isn’t.

This isn’t 1999-2011. The game and the circumstances have completely changed.

It is hard listening to fans whose entire perspective is based upon emotion rather than reason. It just comes across as ignorant.
