If I were in charge of Amazon, Apple, Facebook, why would I buy it?

What is that ESPN is or has that is of real value? What do people really want these days? Pardon the Interruption? Stephen A Smith rants, SVP SportsCenter, NFL live? Sure, all this shoulder programming is viewed by some who are probably very loyal to those shows. There is a market for them and they fill up 16 hours per day at least. But the masses tune in to ESPN for live games. That's really it. So why spend on buying ESPN when a vast majority of it is fluff, especially during off-seasons, down time and during pandemics? Why not go straight to the ACC when its rights are available and bid on their games and stream them yourself? Same with NFL, MLB, other conferences and so on down the line as they fit your strategy. It would be akin to buying Sears or JC Penney today. Just buy and sell the clothes directly, and cut out all the fat.
