I lived in a basement apartment in the 'burg in the 70s that leaked like

a sieve. Landlord was a local attorney who later became a judge and spawned a son with the same CV. When I first moved in, I got a free water bed from a co-worker and only when I filled it the first time did I discover the leak that was the reason behind the "free". Took forever to get that squared away then the wall facing the street began leaking every time it rained. The landlord tried to have some kinda shmutz pumped into the foundation wall, to no avail. Finally after a couple of tries he told me the place was unsafe for habitation and he evicted me.
