I just want to hear the other side...
There are a lot of unknowns with what transpired. Too many for me to claim he was innocent. Who said he was breaking up a fight between two white women and didn't do anything wrong? Are these unbiased reports? Again, it could be. As I said, he may be an innocent man that was kindly helping out and cops saw him and decided to shoot the black guy. It's also possible that he said something about getting his weapon and refused to stop....and when the police realized he was getting his knife with kids nearby, they tried to stop him and when the tazer didn't stop him and he continued, they shot him. Maybe.
This 17 year old is a POS and, again, shouldn't have shot anyone unless he was attacked...and even then, he...especially as a kid...shouldn't have been there.
I don't know much about this kid, but what makes him a white supremacist? Hopefully it's more than him being a wannabe cop and supporting them.
I agree the police shouldn't have encouraged them...although I'm not sure they were aware of this specific kid and him being 17 and traveling from out of state. These people shouldn't be out there, unless it's their property they're protecting and only then if there is concern for your life.
So, no, I don't support this. But I also think we need to stop saying moronic things like, "it's only property and they have insurance" when mobs burn businesses and kill people like the retired police detective that was trying to protect his store from being looted. Is there any wonder when people are going to be fed up with this crap.... And that it gets little more than a shrug or "oh, that's sad"... And say, the hell you're gonna burn down my town?
I don't ever plan on using my gun to protect someone else's business.... But I will use it to protect mine and my family.
Also, I think there's a difference in... Blake was specifically involved with an interaction with police..... This kid was part of a giant mob many people carrying guns, things being thrown, yelling and screaming about killers, and chaos... And they focused on trying to save the life of someone laying shot on the ground.
Can you imagine the outrage if they just left those people bleeding on the ground to chase after a suspect?
I'm not sure where I see it going. But I don't think demanding every cop be arrested, tried, and executed within hours of a shooting during an altercation is a good thing. I do know that we are getting really good at jumping to judgement, details be damned. I don't think rioting the exact moment an incident happens with no backstory or details is good or helpful.
And I don't think saying "another unarmed black man shot and killed by cops" helps. Can you give me a number of how many unarmed black men were shot and killed by police last year?
It would be helpful....and more honest....if we provided details and facts about cases instead of "another racist cop shoots an innocent black man". For instance, nobody talks about Tamir Rice getting shot WHILE HE WAS JUMPING IN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR OF A POLICE CAR AND TRYING TO TAKE THE COPS GUN FROM HIM! OR Breonna Taylor was shot.... Not because she was black, but because (due to poor Intel.... "Racist" intel maybe?) When they busted into what they believed was an armed drug house, they were shot at and they returned fire. Again, horrible horrible tragidy but hardly in the same universe as what happened to George Floyd.
