Unable to source the authority behind NASA’s new diversity charade


I turn to the Lounge for clarification.

It is being reported (NYPost free site and Houston Chronicle pay site for our “Source????” devotees) that NASA is renaming some celestial bodies - galaxies, nebulae - to make them sound less hurtful to people who’ve been racked with angst and sleeplessness.

Q?: How does one country’s space org get to do that?
