Before we bought our home there was a HOA...

I think the HOA had been around for many years actually. But sometime during the big housing recession, several of the homes were foreclosed or sold. And the HOA kind of disappeared. No one wanted to enforce anything. Then in about 2011 I guess the homes started getting fixed back up and snapped up by locals as well as snowbirds. And neighbors just decided that each person was responsible for the upkeep and if everyone took pride in their home etc, that there would not be a need to resurrect an HOA. I think we have 36 homes in our little area total. And I'm thinking 4-5 need someone's attention. But... I think our little pocket looks every bit as good as other developments with HOAs. So glad we don't have them. Plus we can park our RV in our yard.:)
