I grew up in nearby Cumberland (MD)


It's been about 20 years since I've been to Paw Paw, but at the time there wasn't much there and it was a bit dumpy. Most people visit Paw Paw for the tunnel (part of the C&O Canal), which is pretty cool - we used to right our bikes along the towpath from Cumberland (the terminus of the C&O Canal) to the Paw Paw Tunnel and back.

I suspect you could get a fairly cheap cabin near Paw Paw but you'd be traveling to Cumberland (MD), Berkeley Springs (WV), or Martinsburg (WV)/Hagerstown (MD) for any entertainment or shopping activities.
