Why does it have to be a side?
Why can't it be somewhere along a continuum?
I've said, and believe, some pretty harsh things. Some additional older people are going to die for us to keep an operating economy. We can't close down enough to fully protect them and survive. We have to learn to live with this.
But I'll also gladly, but comfort-wise reluctantly, wear a mask when out in stores. I'm not going to wear one during my daily neighborhood walk, if walking past me on an open street bothers you - go to the other side of the street or self isolate.
There are those that say masks everywhere and those that say they aren't ever wearing them. People that say they have this or that condition that makes it impossible to wear a mask. Fine. Then you self isolate.
We need to maintain civility and recognize people aren't automatically "the other side" if they are a bit down the continuum - in either direction - than you are.
